Wisdom Teeth Removal

Your wisdom teeth are the last to grow in, these teeth are your third molars and their anatomy can differ dramatically from person to person. In some cases wisdom teeth are perfectly functional and won't cause you any issues. However, for many patients these teeth can cause pain and can impact the surrounding teeth and gums.

There are many reasons that wisdom teeth may need to be removed such as:

  • crowding

  • for orthodontic treatment

  • fully or partially impacted wisdom teeth, which may cause swelling, pain and even infection

  • wisdom teeth that only partially erupt through the gum

  • damage to surrounding teeth and bone

  • the gum may grow over the wisdom teeth, causing food and bacteria to be trapped

  • hardest teeth to clean, may cause decay
